Bollywood Comedy Movie Fugly Release on 13 June 2014
Fugly is a comedy drama about four friends on the road to the big, bad, fugly world. The debutant actor, and star boxer Vijender Singh calls the film a 'social thriller' with a strong message. Produced by Akshay Kumar and Ashwini Yardi's Grazing Goat Pictures, Fugly is directed by actor-turned-director Kabir Sadanand. The film stars Mohit Marwah, Kaiara Advani and Arfi Lamba in the lead roles. Jimmy Shergil gives a power packed performance in his negative role as a bad cop. The trailer of the film itself was a huge hit, and so much more is expected from the film. The trailer was marketing and creative innovation that invited viewers and social media enthusiast to login to the movie's official website, and upload their names, images etc. The website then blends these images seamlessly into the film's trailer--so the viewer becomes a part of the film, yes, literally. Debutant Vijendra Singh has gathered a bigger fan base after shooting Fugly. Although boxing remains his first love,
Vijender Singh is determined to give his best shot to acting in Fugly. After an "incredible" experience of shooting the film, he says he has emerged as a more confident actor. "I have to admit that initially it was tough for me to act. But once I got a hang of it, it was fine. Now I know how to respond to the camera, where to turn and where to let the light fall on my face. We had a technical team on the sets of Fugly. They were very helpful. I used to be the first to reach the sets, and I listened to the instructions very carefully. Somewhere, my efforts are bound to show up on screen." From boxing to Bollywood, the Olympics bronze medallist has certainly come a long way. The songs of Fugly are a real treat. Sung, composed and written entirely by popular
rapper, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Banjarey is a melodic track. Yo Yo Honey Singh moves away from his usual peppy dance numbers with Banjarey. The video of the song shows the entire young cast of Vijender Singh, Arfi Lamba, Mohit Marwah and Kiara Advani on a road trip to an adventure sports camp in the Himalayas. Shot in beautiful rusty hilly backgrounds, this slow number will make you nostalgic (if you are above 30) about your college days, and the youth will connect to it as well. Salman Khan appears in the title track of Fugly, Yeh Fugly Fugly Kya Hai, with Akshay Kumar who is co-producing the film. It's a peppy number, and a lot of fun. Be part of the excitement, watch Fugly at Albion & Woodwide cinemas on June 13th!
